Contact our Privacy Officer

Last updated: 2026-05-27

Working draft. This document reflects our current practices and is being finalized with counsel before public launch. It is provided for transparency and is not legal advice. The English version is canonical; translations are for convenience.

Under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) — and, if you live in Québec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) — you have rights over the personal information we hold about you. Our Privacy Officer is the single point of contact for exercising those rights or for raising a concern.

1. How to reach us

Privacy Officer — Maplebind Technologies Inc.
Mail: Maplebind Technologies Inc., Toronto, Ontario, Canada

A physical mailing address is being finalized; email is the fastest channel and is recommended.

2. What you can ask for

  • Access — a copy of the personal information we hold about you and a summary of how it has been used and disclosed.
  • Correction — to fix information you believe is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdrawal of consent — to stop further processing, subject to legal and contractual constraints.
  • Erasure — to delete identifiable information we are not required to keep (for example, by insurance recordkeeping).
  • Portability (Law 25, where applicable) — a structured copy of the information you provided to us.
  • Complaint — a complaint about how we handled your information.

3. How to make a request

Email privacy@maplebind.ca from the email address on your Maplebind account, or from the address you used to submit a quote. Please include:

  • What you are asking for (access, correction, deletion, etc.).
  • Enough information to identify the records (your full name and an approximate date of the quote request is usually enough).
  • Your province (we apply Law 25 to Québec residents in addition to PIPEDA).

If we cannot verify that the request is genuinely yours, we may ask for additional confirmation before disclosing personal information.

4. Response time

We respond to access and correction requests within 30 days(PIPEDA), and within 14 days where Law 25 applies. If we need an extension we will tell you in writing within the original window and explain why.

5. What you can do without contacting us

You can already, on your own:

  • Inspect the data we hold about you and a log of who has accessed it at /privacy-log (after sign-in).
  • Manage your preferred language and your account.
  • Stop a quote at any time by simply not selecting a broker.

6. If we don’t resolve it

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the federal regulator and, where applicable, the Québec regulator:

  • Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada — priv.gc.ca, 1-800-282-1376.
  • Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec — cai.gouv.qc.ca.
