Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-05-27
These Terms govern your use of the website and services provided by Maplebind Technologies Inc. (“Maplebind”, “we”). By using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. What Maplebind is — and is not
Maplebind is a digital marketplace that introduces insurance shoppers to RIBO-licensed insurance brokers in Ontario. Maplebind is not an insurance company, is not your broker, and does not write, bind, adjust, or pay claims on any policy. Insurance services are provided by the broker you select and the carrier they place you with.
2. Eligibility
To use the service you must:
- Be at least the age of majority in your province (18 in Ontario).
- Be shopping for insurance for an asset located in a province where we operate (currently Ontario).
- Provide accurate information about yourself and the risk you want to insure.
3. How matching works
When you submit a quote request, we use your stated risk facts and service area to identify up to five brokers licensed to handle your product, your region, and your preferred language. Brokers receive a redacted version of your request — see our Privacy Policy. They submit blind quotes; you compare and choose one. The broker you choose receives your full contact details to complete the transaction.
You may also request an exclusive lead at submission — routed to a single best-matched broker. This is optional.
4. No insurance advice from Maplebind
We do not provide insurance advice or recommend specific coverage, limits, or deductibles. Only the RIBO-licensed broker you connect with is authorized to advise on your specific policy. Our support assistant (the in-app chat) is an automated tool and is constrained to platform questions and general definitions — it will not give personalized advice.
5. Fees
The service is free for shoppers. We never charge you and our presence does not change your premium — brokers quote their carriers’ filed rates. Maplebind earns revenue from a flat advertising/lead fee paid by brokers when they receive and quote a lead. This fee is decoupled from whether you ultimately purchase a policy and is not a commission.
6. Accounts
You may submit a quote without an account. To track a request, view received quotes, and message a broker you create an account using either an email link or password. Keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or third-party information you do not have authority to provide.
- Use the service to harvest broker information, scrape data, or otherwise interfere with its operation.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, anti-abuse measures, or any security mechanism.
- Use the service for any purpose prohibited by Ontario or federal law.
8. Intellectual property
The Maplebind name, logo, software, and the way we present quotes are our intellectual property. Quotes themselves originate from the brokers and their carriers. Nothing in these Terms grants you a licence to copy or republish either set.
9. Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is.” While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranty that quotes will be available within any specific window or that any particular broker will respond. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maplebind disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
Maplebind is not liable for any decision you make about insurance coverage, for the conduct or advice of any broker, or for any acts or omissions of any insurance carrier. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of the service shall not exceed CA $100.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if we believe in good faith you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time by contacting support@maplebind.ca.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged and dated. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance.
